Challenge to Crisis - Anupriskes Entertainment and Recreation Park

Despite challenging economic crisis times a new entertainment and recreation park will be opened near the historical capital of Lithuania, Trakai.

Ciurlionis in Vilnius

From June 20 the most spectacular works by Lithuanian famous composer and painter M.K. Ciurlionis will be exhibited in European Culture Capital 2009 - Vilnius.

Launching in the newly opened National Art Gallery, the exhibition displays the paintings that were hosted by many world art museums. However, the original M.K.Ciurlionis museum located in Kaunas will not close. It invites to see paintings that were previously removed from active exhibition as well as the ones that have never been exhibited before.

M.K. Ciurlionis was the most famous Lithuanian painter symbolist, who was the first to reveal the peculiarities of abstract art in Lithuanian painting tradition.
