Special Terms for STS Alppimatkat

Below are additional and special terms for the STS Alppimatkat tour operator, which are valid in addition to the general terms and conditions of Finnish tour operators.

Special Terms

I PAYMENT TERMS

1. If the trip is booked more than 40 days before the start of the trip:

  • the reservation fee of 100 € per person must be paid within 7 days of booking confirmation;
  • The total cost of the trip must be paid 40 days before the start of the trip.

2. If the trip is booked less than 40 days before the start of the trip, the full price must be paid immediately.

II SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE, ADDITIONAL COSTS AND CHANGING OF RESERVATION

1. The basic price of the trip is given per person in a double room.

2. The services included in the basic price of the trip:

  • documents required for travel sent by e-mail;
  • round-trip flights on the Helsinki-Salzburg/Innsbruck/Turin/Munich route;
  • accommodation with the type of meal selected from the options presented in the offer;
  • guide service.

2.a. All-inclusive packages also include breakfast, three-course dinner for six evenings and six-day lift tickets.
2.b. The price includes a round-trip flight from Helsinki to the selected destination.
2.c. In the case of regular flights (Lufthansa), tickets are provided to the customer by mail.

3. The base price does not include:

  • sending travel documents required for the trip by mail (extra fee 7 €/booking);
  • transport to and from the airport from which the flight to the selected destination takes place;
  • in-flight meals (on flights operated by SAS, it is possible to book this service for 20 €/person);
  • lift tickets and excursions (when booking the all-inclusive lift tickets for six days, they are already included in the price);
  • drinks on meals and tips;
  • in the case of certain, separately agreed charges for tour destinations or airport fees, as well as visa and vaccination fees;
  • travel insurance;
  • transfer from the airport to the hotel and back. The transfer service must be booked separately when booking the trip. Bus, taxi or shuttle transfers can be booked at an additional cost. The cost of the transfer varies depending on the destination and can be found in the offer brochure or on www.alppimatkat.fi This point does not apply to booking flights;
  • ski equipment transportation by air:
    • Finnair
      • Reservations and credit card payments are processed on Finnair’s website www.finnair.ee. Transportation of skis costs 25/30/40 € for one direction, depending on the place of purchase.
    • SAS and Norwegian
      • If you book in advance, a pair of skis or a snowboard cost 56 € for per person for one direction.
      • When paying at the airport, a pair of skis or a snowboard costs 60 € per person for one direction.

4. Change and cancellation fees
In accordance with the general conditions of the reservation change or cancellation, office expenses of 50 €/person will be charged.

5. Services for an additional fee
If the brochure describes the possibility of booking, for example, a single room, a suite, etc., this can be done for an additional fee. The additional fee does not guarantee the availability of the paid service. If it is not possible to provide the paid service to the client, the additional fee is refunded in full. Requests on the specified room or its location are considered as far as possible, but this is not necessary.

6. Alpijokker and the lottery placement
If the customer books an Alpijokker trip or a lottery placement trip, specific hotels are not included in the booking: instead there is Alpijokker or the lottery placement indicated in the booking. In this case, the customer will be informed of the place of accommodation upon arrival at the airport at the destination. The cost of this service is in no way related to the cost of travel and accommodation in specific hotels. Accommodation takes place mainly in 1-2* hotels. The price includes breakfast, dinners for three meals for six evenings and lift tickets for six days. Lottery tickets do not include the above services. This travel option is suitable for those who are interested in skiing.

7. Booking multiple rooms
The tour operator cannot guarantee that several rooms or apartments booked at the same time will be next to each other.

8. Room reservation

Deposit. On arrival at the hotel, the deposit must be paid for each room booked. The deposit guarantees that the room and its interior (furniture, pillows, blankets, carpets, shower curtains, lights, faucets, kitchen utensils, etc.) will remain in the same condition as before arrival. The deposit can be paid in cash or by credit card. The deposit is refunded upon check-out. If any item of the interior is damaged or missing, the cost will be refunded to the hotel. If the customer notices that something is broken or missing in the room upon check-in, they must inform the STS Alppimatkat tour operator or the hotel administration within 48 hours.

Deposit refund. If the room at the time of check-out remains in the same condition as before arrival, the deposit is refunded in full. If the deposit is paid in cash, the refund will be sent to the client’s bank account. If the deposit has been paid by credit card, the deposit is refunded to the credit account.

Bed linen and towels are always in the room (unless otherwise stated). Often the customer needs to make his own bedding on arrival.

The end of the journey. Room cleaning is included in the price of the trip (except for the kitchen which needs to be cleaned additionally). Before leaving, it is necessary to remove food and beverages from the fridge, throw away garbage, wash dishes, put pillows and blankets in the closet or on the bed, and leave bed linen and towels on the floor in the hallway.

Tourist tax. In many ski resorts you have to pay the so-called tourist tax. Please note that STS Alppimatkat customers do not have to pay the travel tax separately because it is already added to the base price of the trip.

9. The STS Alppimatkat reserves the right to provide customers with better conditions than those indicated in the booking. However, this is not the responsibility of the tour operator.

10. The exact timetable for departure and arrival at your destination can be found in the offer brochures as well as in your booking confirmation. If the actual schedule differs from this one, the customer will be informed about it in the booking confirmation or later.

11. STS Alppimatkat reserves the right to reduce prices. The discount is valid from the moment the tour operator notifies about the discount and does not apply to reservations made earlier.

12. If the minor client travels without an adult companion, a written confirmation of the parent or responsible person with signature must be provided at the time of booking or immediately after the booking. The printable confirmation form can be found at www.alppimatkat.fi.

13. Cancellation of booking due to illness. If the reservation is to be canceled due to unforeseen illness, the tour operator must be informed as soon as possible. Outside working hours, you can notify the tour operator by writing to info@alppimatkat.fi. Documents related to the reason for canceling the trip (e.g. doctor’s certificate) must be provided to the tour operator within two weeks after the cancellation.

III AGE-RELATED, EARLY BOOKING AND GROUP DISCOUNTS

1. The cost of a trip for a child under age of 2 is 50 €. Possible surcharges for accommodation and meals are made on site by the hotel. The price of a trip for a child under age of 2 does not include a separate seat on the plane and a transfer at the destination.

2. From 2 to 12 years old child is entitled to a child discount.
2.a. 2-6 years-old children are entitled to a 250 € discount, and 7-12 years-old children are entitled to a 150 € discount.
2.b. When staying at Salzburger Hof and Villa Orania, extra beds for children are subject to a fixed price: 395-495 €, depending on the start date of the trip.

3. 13-17-years-old children and adults aged 60 or over are entitled to a 50 € discount.

4. Discounts for groups. Discounts for groups are valid for groups of 10 people or more. Discounts for groups are not valid for the 52nd, 1st and 8th week of the year, as well as during Christmas holidays and New Year’s Eve. Ask your Estravel consultant for an offer. Special conditions apply when you travel in a group.

5. At the time of booking, the client must inform the consultant on which discounts they are entitled to and, if necessary, approve this information. One of the above discounts may apply per booking (except for group bookings).

IV USE OF SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE COST OF THE TRIP

1. The client is obliged to follow the international rules, according to which it is forbidden to transfer the services included in the price of the ticket to other persons.

2. If the customer does not use the services booked in the framework of the trip, or uses them only partially, he is obliged to inform the tour guide about it. In addition, the customer is obliged to arrive at the hotel before returning to the airport at the end of the trip, as well as at least one day in advance to contact the guide and inform him of any changes in plans. This requirement also applies to customers who have only booked a flight. If the client does not follow these rules, or is late and does not have time for the planned departure, he is responsible for returning to Helsinki/Tallinn on his own.

3. The customer who has booked a ticket is obliged to provide the travel agent with their exact contact details, which can be used to contact the customer during the trip.

4. The Customer is not entitled to demand a refund for unused services.

5. If the Customer does not show up at the time of departure for the airport, the tour operator reserves the right to sell the unused trip to others.
