Aurinkomatkat Oy is Finland’s largest and oldest tour operator founded in 1963. The company carries nearly a quarter of a million holidaymakers a year to over a hundred different destinations worldwide. Aurinkomatkat is wholly owned by the Finnish national airline Finnair Oy.

According to the cooperation agreement, which entered into force in December 2019, all Aurinkomatkat holiday packages starting from Helsinki can be purchased from Estravel. All Aurinkomatkat tour package trips are made with Finnair flights, professional travel agents’ services are provided at destinations. Estravel offers a discounted connection to Helsinki from Tallinn or Tartu to Aurinkomatkat customers who do not want to go to Helsinki Airport by ferry and taxi.

Estravel board member Anne Samlik said that Estravel’s cooperation with tour operator Aurinkomatkat means that Estonian travelers have a much wider choice of tourist trips: “During the winter season, one of the favorite destinations for Estonians is the Canary Islands: Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, where the price of a 7-day holiday trips starts at 330 euros. In addition, our customers will be able to choose from a wide range of different Thai resorts:  Hua Hin, Khao Lak, Koh Lanta, Rayong. From more distant destinations, there are trips to Cuba, Vietnam and the Dominican Republic. As an alternative to Egypt, you can go to Israel.

During the summer season, you can enjoy Spanish destinations such as Mallorca and Costa Dorada. If you would like to go to Italy, there are trips to Lake Garda and to the seaside of Rimini. There are also many Greek destinations that Estonian tour operators do not offer, such as Santorini, Lefkas, Thassos, Zakynthos, as well as the famous musical Mamma Mia places – Skiathos and Skopelos. Active holiday lovers can go to Austria, where there are countless hiking trails and a variety of children’s attractions on the mountain slopes in summer.

An interesting thing is that Aurinkomatkat offers trips to Turkey all year round. While in the summer months, Turkey can reach temperatures of 35-40 degrees Celsius, winter temperatures are about 15-20 degrees Celsius, which is a good alternative for those looking for milder temperatures at short distance flights. The actual choice of destinations is even wider.”
