Special Terms for STS Alppimatkat

Below are additional and special terms for the STS Alppimatkat tour operator, which are valid in addition to the general terms and conditions of Finnish tour operators.

Special Terms

I PAYMENT TERMS

1. If the trip is booked more than 45 days before the start of the trip:

  • the reservation fee of 200 € per person must be paid within 7 days of booking confirmation;
  • The total cost of the trip must be paid 45 days before the start of the trip.

2. If the trip is booked less than 45 days before the start of the trip, the full price must be paid immediately.

II SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE, ADDITIONAL COSTS AND CHANGING OF RESERVATION

1. The basic price of the trip is given per person in a double room.

2. The services included in the basic price of the trip:

  • documents required for travel sent by e-mail;
  • round-trip flights on the Helsinki-Salzburg/Innsbruck/Turin/Munich route;
  • accommodation with the type of meal selected from the options presented in the offer;
  • guide service.

2.a. All-inclusive packages also include breakfast, three-course dinner for six evenings and six-day lift tickets.
2.b. The price includes a round-trip flight from Helsinki to the selected destination.

3. The base price does not include:

  • sending travel documents required for the trip by mail (extra fee 7 €/booking);
  • transport to and from the airport from which the flight to the selected destination takes place;
  • in-flight meals (on flights operated by SAS, it is possible to book this service for 20 €/person);
  • lift tickets and excursions (when booking the all-inclusive lift tickets for six days, they are already included in the price);
  • drinks on meals and tips;
  • in the case of certain, separately agreed charges for tour destinations or airport fees, as well as visa and vaccination fees;
  • travel insurance;
  • transfer from the airport to the hotel and back. The transfer service must be booked separately when booking the trip. Bus, taxi or shuttle transfers can be booked at an additional cost. The cost of the transfer varies depending on the destination and can be found in the offer brochure or on www.alppimatkat.fi This point does not apply to booking flights;
  • ski equipment transportation by air:
    • Finnair
      • Economy Class luggage: 23 kg + 8 kg. (1 piece + 1 hand luggage allowed)
      • Ski baggage: Book and pay by credit card directly on Finnair’s website www.finnair.com/fi-fi/manage/alppimatkat.
        The price of ski transport depends on the purchase channel, the exact prices are determined by Finnair and you can find them at www.finnair.fi. NOTE! Remember to tag your luggage. – STS Alppimatkat is not responsible for changes
    • SAS
      • Economy Class luggage: 20 kg + 5 kg.
      • Ski baggage: Ski luggage includes 1 pair of skis and poles, 1 pair of skis and 1 helmet (maximum total weight 12 kg). The overalls and helmet must be packed in a separate bag. Remember that you can only pack one ski per bag. Ski baggage price €56/person.

4. Change and cancellation fees
According to the general travel conditions, €200 per person will be charged for cancellations. A €20 office fee is charged for changes to the reservation, and €50 per person for name changes.

5. Services for an additional fee
If the brochure describes the possibility of booking, for example, a single room, a suite, etc., this can be done for an additional fee. The additional fee does not guarantee the availability of the paid service. If it is not possible to provide the paid service to the client, the additional fee is refunded in full. Requests on the specified room or its location are considered as far as possible, but this is not necessary.

6. Booking multiple rooms
The tour operator cannot guarantee that several rooms or apartments booked at the same time will be next to each other.

7. When you book the apartment

Deposit. On arrival at the hotel, the deposit must be paid for each apartment booked. The deposit guarantees that the room and its interior (furniture, pillows, blankets, carpets, shower curtains, lights, faucets, kitchen utensils, etc.) will remain in the same condition as before arrival. The deposit can be paid in cash or by credit card. The deposit is refunded upon check-out. If any item is damaged or lost, you must replace it. Damage to the premises must be compensated. If the customer notices that something is broken or missing in the room upon check-in, they must inform the STS Alppimatkat tour operator or the hotel administration within 48 hours.

Deposit refund. If the room at the time of check-out remains in the same condition as before arrival, the deposit is refunded in full. If the deposit is paid in cash, the refund will be sent to the client’s bank account. If the deposit has been paid by credit card, the deposit is refunded to the credit account.

Bed linen and towels are always in the room (unless otherwise stated). Often the customer needs to make his own bedding on arrival.

The end of the journey. Room cleaning is included in the price of the trip (except for the kitchen which needs to be cleaned additionally). Before leaving, it is necessary to remove food and beverages from the fridge, throw away garbage, wash dishes, put pillows and blankets in the closet or on the bed, and leave bed linen and towels on the floor in the hallway.

Tourist tax. In many ski resorts you have to pay the so-called tourist tax. Please note that STS Alppimatkat customers do not have to pay the travel tax separately because it is already added to the base price of the trip.

8. The STS Alppimatkat reserves the right to provide customers with better conditions than those indicated in the booking. However, this is not the responsibility of the tour operator.

9. The exact timetable for departure and arrival at your destination can be found in the offer brochures as well as in your booking confirmation. If the actual schedule differs from this one, the customer will be informed about it in the booking confirmation or later.

10. STS Alppimatkat reserves the right to reduce prices. The discount is valid from the moment the tour operator notifies about the discount and does not apply to reservations made earlier.

11. If a person under the age of 18 travels without a guardian, a written confirmation of the parent or responsible person with signature must be provided at the time of booking or immediately after the booking. The printable confirmation form can be found at www.alppimatkat.fi.

12. Cancellation of booking due to illness. If the reservation is to be canceled due to unforeseen illness, the tour operator must be informed as soon as possible. Outside working hours, you can notify the tour operator by writing to info@alppimatkat.fi. Documents related to the reason for canceling the trip (e.g. doctor’s certificate) must be provided to the tour operator within two weeks after the cancellation.

III USE OF SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE COST OF THE TRIP

1. If the customer does not use the services booked in the framework of the trip, or uses them only partially, he is obliged to inform the tour guide about it. In addition, the customer is obliged to arrive at the hotel before returning to the airport at the end of the trip, as well as at least one day in advance to contact the guide and inform him of any changes in plans. This requirement also applies to customers who have only booked a flight. If the client does not follow these rules, or is late and does not have time for the planned departure, he is responsible for returning to Helsinki/Tallinn on his own.

2. The customer who has booked a flight ticket is obliged to provide the travel agent with their exact contact details, which can be used to contact the customer during the trip.

3. The Customer is not entitled to demand a refund for unused services.

4. If the Customer does not show up at the time of departure for the airport, the tour operator reserves the right to sell the unused trip to others.
